The Friday Refrain: What's New In Music

It's a light week for releases today so let's hit it.

New Music

Folksy singer-songwriter Lori McKenna returns with The Tree. The Internet's new album is again all over the genre map but the one thing Hive Mind definitely is: weekend summer listening. Punch Brothers released All Ashore today. And Ty Segall & White Fence teamed up for Joy.

Should I Bother?

• Lori McKenna: it's a good album about aging and family. There are a couple really great songs on here for everyone too.
• Ty Segall & White Fence: First I'm just excited that it's on Spotify. It's pretty quick and all over the rock map, like you'd expect.
• Punch Brothers: I like my americana albums. Especially on a rainy morning with my son doing remixes of his own piano songs in the background.
• The Internet: I haven't been into previous albums, but this one is going to be put into my rotation, or at least my summer party mix.

So my internet and computer are being crazy like usual because it's Friday and I'm trying to get this posted, so I can't do my Spotify list right now but I'll try tonight and update this later. But I think you have a pretty good idea which of those releases you'd be putting on anyways, so Happy Listening!
